Licensed Addiction Counselor
Minot Location
My name is Bonnie Hughes, and I am a Licensed Addiction Counselor. My passion for this work comes from my own firsthand experience with addiction and the fight it takes to overcome it. Having walked that path myself, I feel a deep calling to help others break free from the chains of addiction so they can move forward into true and lasting recovery.
I am originally from Belton, Texas, where I began my journey in the field of substance abuse counseling. I earned my Associate’s degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling and later completed my Bachelor’s degree in Substance Abuse Counseling from Midwestern State University in 2025, graduating summa cum laude. I am currently continuing my education through Midwestern State University as I pursue my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I previously worked within the prison system in Texas as a Licensed Addiction Counselor, where I developed a strong passion for helping individuals rebuild their lives and confront the underlying causes of addiction. In August of 2025, I moved to Minot after being offered the opportunity to work with Providence House. I am grateful to be part of the Providence House family and excited to continue this journey of helping others find freedom from addiction and rediscover who they truly are.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking with my family, and raising my four little ones.
