Brent Borkhuis

My name is Brent Borkhuis. I am a blessed husband and proud father of 4. I have found God’s grace in long term recovery and rejoice in life beyond addiction and purpose in my days. I celebrated 10 years of sobriety in June 2024. I have lived multiple lives, from working in sports television broadcasting that led me to travel the greater US, to climbing aboard a locomotive as a conductor and then an engineer. I have long felt a calling to return to help others find the peace I now know, but it wasn’t without a softening of heart and head before I listened.

My education journey includes a B.S. in Psychology from UMary in Bismarck, ND, and a M.A. in Addiction Counseling and Prevention from USD in Vermillion, SD. Further, I never quit learning and find that I am taught new things each day if I open my mind to accept new knowledge.

In my leisure time, I like to camp, hike, and travel the country and world with my wife and kids.
